I've been sort of an on-again, off-again comic collector for my whole life. At the end of my college career I was in an 'on' period and found myself making weekly trips to a little comic shop on Main St here in Buffalo called the Queen City Bookstore. Years and an extended 'off' period later, I was back living in Buffalo and back making weekly trips down to that same comic shop. It was somewhere in this time that I discovered myself and the owner, Emil Novak had a shared hobby in filmmaking. A couple years ago while I was unemployed I passed time helping him edit his most recent project called Something Dark. Now, X-strike is full-fledged "helpin a brother out" on his newest movie, a zombie short anthology called Decayed. This past weekend Juese and acted as a second camera unit, giving us a chance to cut our teeth with our newest piece of equipment and help Emil out with a scene from his movie as well. Of course, we blogged it and you can follow our adventures vicariously through it. You can expect to hear more about Decayed in the coming months as well, as we'll actually be producing one of the shorts for the full movie.
On time and in your face. This week we were fortunate enough to be joined by X-strike artist Cory Golabek to join us in discussion about the evolution of stylistic expression in games.
So what happens when your work week is all backwards with later and longer hours? You forget to put up a podcast! Seriously, my bust. This week its our annual Summer Movie Preview!

Its been a looooong time since the last Resident Horror blog hit the site. The blog series ran about 20 installments long and quietly petered out shortly before the DVD release. However, last week I remembered a bit of blog footage that I had tucked away on one of my hard drives that never quite made the light of day. Its an amusing and (hopefully) entertaining tidbit of the Resident Horror story that to this point has gone untold. Enjoy!
As many of you have already noticed, the forums have gone missing. I could lie and tell you that they went home for Mother's Day but the truth is they just don't care about their mother. A bit heartless I know but you can't pick and choose who you work with on this here internet. No, instead Ben was trying to do an upgrade yesterday, an upgrade that surely would have blown all of our minds but in the midst of it his internet took a giant crapola so he's been unable to fix it. And all because he went to visit his mom for Mother's Day. What a jerk.
Retrocast numba 3 is coming at ya! This week Dave and I come out from under a rock and try out this game called Half-Life that was apparently a pretty big deal in 1998.
X-Strike takes you inside the Big Shell in the first episode of our brand new web series! Metal Gear: Briefs follows the misadventures of Foxhound operative Raiden as he tries to live up to the legendary status and antagonistic presence of his predecessor Solid Snake! Written by Steve Smith, animated by me, and featuring the voice talents of one Devon Riley!
